A City Girl in the Country

A City Girl in the Country

In 1949, baled hay was still relatively new to Thomson Township, but probably not as rare as the sight of a young woman in summer finery in a post-harvest hayfield.  Ruth Sieger of Duluth was visiting Gerald Reponen (and his dog, “Spotty”) on the Sorila family farm on what would become the Sorila Road.  She would become Mrs. Gerald Reponen in November 1950.  Now residing in Oregon, the Reponens will soon observe their 60th wedding anniversary.
